(Windsor, ON) – Pasquale Zito’s first OHL goal backed Xavier Medina’s first OHL win, as the Spits moved to 3-0 on the season with a 2-1 win in Hamilton on Friday night.

Cole Purboo (1) had the other goal for Windsor (3-0-0-0), who will wrap a stretch of three games in three days in Erie on Saturday night.

Medina made 18 saves, and fell just 83 seconds shy of posting a shutout in his first career OHL appearance, as a Peyton Vescio floater from the point – also his first OHL goal – found the back of the net as the Bulldogs pressed late.

Zito’s goal just past the midway mark of the third turned out to be the eventual game winner.

The Spits will look to make it a sweep of the week, as they visit Erie on Saturday night. The Otters are coming off a 6-2 loss in London.
