General Manager Warren Rychel announced today the club has traded forward Jordan Maletta to the Niagara IceDogs.

In exchange, the Spitfires receive London’s 2nd round pick in 2014 and a conditional 6th round pick in 2016 from Niagara.

“We’d like to thank Jordan for his time and effort while with the Spitfires,” Rychel said. “He’s a class act on and off the ice. We wish him all the best with his hometown Niagara IceDogs.”

Maletta was Windsor’s 1st round pick, 13th overall, in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection.

In 93 games with the Spitfires, the St Catharines, Ontario native scored nine goals and added 23 assists.

“I enjoyed my time in Windsor. I had a lot of fun playing with a great group of guys and playing for a great organization! The fans were 2nd to none and I’m definitely going to miss it. But I’m excited to be a part of the Niagara IceDogs now and I can’t wait to play back at home!”
