Warren RychelVP and General Manager

Warren Rychel enters his tenth season as General Manager of the Windsor Spitfires.

Rychel built the club’s consecutive MasterCard Memorial Cup and Rogers OHL Championship performances in the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons, earning OHL Executive of the Year honours in 2008-2009.

Rychel’s own career spanned 10 NHL seasons, during which he won the 1996 Stanley Cup as a member of the Colorado Avalanche.

Warren lives in Tecumseh with his wife Denise and children Kerby, Maddux and Kendall.​​


Bill Bowler – Vice President Hockey Operations

Bill Bowler enters his first season as Vice President of Hockey Operations.

He is an iconic figure in Spitfires history. Bowler holds the franchise record for points in a career (467) and is the OHL’s all-time leader in assists (318).  His #9 was raised to the rafters of the WFCU Centre back in 2011 after he went on to play nine professional seasons in the IHL, AHL, NHL and in Europe.

Bowler also enters his third season as Head Coach and General Manger of Hockey Operations with the LaSalle Vipers of the GOJHL; the Spitfires Jr B affiliate.

Bill lives in Lakeshore with his wife Lindsay and children Jack, Ben and Madelyn.



Brian TeakleDirector of Player Personnel & Head Scout

Brian enters his 10th season with the Spitfires and his second as Director of Player Personnel.

He was instrumental in building the clubs that won back-to-back Rogers OHL and Memorial Cup championships in 2009 and 2010.

Brian has been in the hockey industry for more than two decades as a coach and scout.

His two sons are also heavily involved in coaching.

Justin, 29, is Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel with the Toronto Patriots Jr A club, and Sean, 26, is Head Coach of the Hill Academy U16s.

Brian currently resides in Mississauga.


Rocky Thompson – Head Coach

Rocky Thompson enters his first season as Head Coach.

His playing career spanned 14 years in the WHL, AHL and NHL.

Rocky most recently served as an assistant coach with the Edmonton Oilers.

Previously, Rocky was an assistant coach with the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings (2004-2007) and the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons (2007-2010).

Along with his wife Elizabeth, sons Tyr (16), Tyme (14) and daughters Taze (13) and True (8), Rocky expects to be settled in to the family’s new home in Windsor sometime in August.


Trevor Letowski – Associate Coach

Trevor Letowski enters his first season as Associate Coach.

Letowski, 38, played 13 professional seasons, including 616 National Hockey League games with the Phoenix Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes.

He spent the last five years coaching the Sarnia Sting; the last two as the club’s head coach.

Trevor, wife Amy and daughter Graci, 5, expect to be settled into their new home in Tecumseh in August. 



Jerrod SmithAssistant Coach

Jerrod Smith enters his third season as an Assistant Coach, having spent the previous two seasons as the club’s video coach.

Smith earned his undergrad degree from Acadia University and graduated with his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

He played in the OHL for the St. Michaels Majors and spent time playing professional hockey in both Germany and Australia.

Jerrod lives in Windsor with his wife Candace.



Paul Billing – Goaltending Coach

Paul Billing enters his seventh season as Goaltending Coach.

Billing won a Turner Cup title with Toledo of the International Hockey League in 1983, setting the league standard for combined goals against average along with partner Lorne Molleken.​

Billing played at the collegiate level for St. Louis University and United States International University.

Paul lives in Tecumseh, with his wife Delight and three children Georgia, Camille and Eli.



Joey Garland – Athletic Therapist

Joey Garland is entering his tenth season with the Spitfires as Athletic Therapist.

Garland has enjoyed great success internationally over recent years, including winning a goal medal with Team Canada at the World Under-18 Championships in Russia. He also worked as Athletic Therapist for Team Canada at the 2014 World U-20 Junior Championships.

Garland graduated with a B.Sc. (Kinesiology) from Dalhousie University in 2002 and also obtained his Sports Injury Management Diploma from Sheridan College in 2005.

Joey currently resides in Windsor with his wife Amanda.



J.R. GrantHead Equipment Manager

J.R Grant enters his eighth season with the Spitfires and his fourth as the team’s Head Equipment Manager.

J.R. graduated from Holy Names High School and currently lives in Harrow.






Kameron BagleyAssistant Equipment Manager

Kameron Bagley enters his second season with the Spitfires as the team’s Assistant Equipment Manager.







Sean DeMuynck – Video Coach

Sean DeMunyk enters his third season as the club’s Video Coach.

Sean currently resides in Windsor.
