The Windsor Spitfires Acquire Jacob Maillet from the Guelph Storm

The Windsor Spitfires have traded a 5th round pick in 2022 and a conditional 12th round pick in 2024 in exchange for Guelph forward Jacob Maillet.

Maillet is from Dundas Ontario and was drafted by the Storm in the 2019 OHL priority selection draft 38th overall. The 6’1 forward played in 51 games for the Storm is his rookie season recording one goal and five assists. So far this season Maillet has played in 23 games and has recorded 6 points (2 goals and 4 assists).

Maillet spoke on the trade.

“I am extremely excited to be with Windsor and I think it will be a good opportunity for me.” Said Maillet. “I think Windsor is a good team and I can bring a lot to the team.”

General Manager Bill Bowler spoke on acquiring Jacob.

“Jacob is a reliable forward and is responsible in all three zones.” Bowler said. “We are excited to have Jacob join the club and we welcome him with this new opportunity.”
