The Spitfires have acquired forward Remy Giftopoulos from the Ottawa 67’s in exchange for a package of draft picks.

Windsor also gets Ottawa’s 12th round pick in 2013, while sending Windsor’s 4th in 2015 and Erie’s 7th in 2013 to the 67’s.

“We’re very happy to add a big, experienced winger like Remy, who will not only help us this year but next year,” said General Manager Warren Rychel. “He’s a player that can make plays and contribute at both ends of the rink.”

Giftopoulos is a 1993-born native of Ancaster, Ontario, currently playing in his third OHL season.

In 134 career games, all with Ottawa, the 6’2, 203-pound left winger has 26 goals and 25 assists along with 88 penalty minutes.

Giftopoulos is expected to be in the lineup Thursday night as the Spitfires take on Brampton.
