(Sarnia, ON) – Cole Purboo had a pair of goals, leading the Spitfires to a 4-2 win over the Sting in preseason action on Friday night in Sarnia.

The overage winger returned to action after returning from a training camp sting with the Chicago Blackhawks and was dominant, registering six shots and a +2 rating.

Will Cuylle (2) and Daniel D’Amico (2) had the other goal for the Spitfires, who won for the second time three preseason matchups by scoring three times in the second period.

Anthony Tabak (1) and Nolan Burke (1) replied for the Sting, who got a 27-save performance from Cameron Lamour in the losing cause.

Xavier Medina played all sixty minutes for the visitors, stopping 20 of the last 22 shots he faced after allowing the a firs shot opening goal to Tabak.

Both clubs will wrap the preseason in the back half of a home-and-home series when they meet Sunday afternoon at 2pm at the WFCU Centre.
