(Saginaw, MI) – Aaron Luchuk scored twice, as the Spitfires beat the Spirit 4-3 at the Dow Event Center in the club’s final regular season game Saturday.

The tandem of Michael DiPietro and Mario Culina split the game in goal for Windsor (41-19-5-3), stopping a combined 46 shots, as Saginaw outshot the Spits 36-11 over the game’s final 40 minutes.

Culina replaced DiPietro at the 10:07 mark of the second period, in a move scheduled by the coaching staff.

Cristiano DiGiacinto (13) and Jeremy Bracco (25) had the other goals for the winners, while Graham Knott chipped in a pair of assists.

Who the Spitfires will face in the first round of the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Playoffs will be decided on Sunday. An Owen Sound win in Guelph will set up a Windsor vs London matchup.
