(Windsor, ON) – April is organ and tissue donation awareness month.
To mark the first anniversary of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy, we’re joining with the Windsor Essex Gift of Life Association for “Green Shirt Day” this Sunday, April 7th.
The event is in memory of Logan Boulet, an assistant captain with the Broncos who was one of 16 people killed.
Logan had previously shared his desire to donate his organs with his parents. As a result, six people’s lives were changed forever.
His example is now referred to as the #LoganBouletEffect, inspiring a movement across the country.
In 2018, 23 people in our region received the gift of a life saving organ transplant. “Wear a Green Shirt Day” is dedicated to raising awareness and letting people know how they can get involved.
That starts with encouraging people to be an organ donor by registering at BeADonor.ca.
