(Erie, PA) – Aaron Luchuk scored his second goal of the night at 2:02 of overtime, lifting the Spitfires to a 4-3 win over the Otters at the Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday night.
The league leader in goals (18) came off the bench after a dominant shift from the trio of Logan Brown, Jake Smith and Sean Day and ripped a wrist shot past Anand Oberoi (16 saves) to give Windsor (11-5-1-0) its fourth straight victory.
Brown had the other two goals and added an assist in the win, backing Michael DiPietro’s 29-save effort.
Ivan Lodnia (11), Carson Edwardson (4) and Josh Wainman (2) had the goals for Erie, which lost for just the second time this season on home ice. Wainman’s goal at 15:17 of the third period forced overtime.
Oberoi replaced Otters started Troy Timpano (15 saves), who left after the third period TV timeout with an undisclosed injury.
The Spitfires will look to make it five straight wins Sunday afternoon at 2:00, as they visit the Bulldogs in Hamilton.
