For the second consecutive week, goalie Jaroslav Pavelka is the Tecumseh and South Walkerville Vision Centres Player of the Week.

Pavelka, the 18-year-old native of the Czech Republic, has consistently been the club's best player in recent weeks. And he's won the award this week largely for his ability to bounce back.

After a less-than-impressive team effort against the Guelph Storm, in a 6-0 loss, on Thursday night, Jaro put forth a huge effort on Sunday. He was named 1st star for a 32-save effort that led the Spits to their 21st victory - a 3-2 win over the visiting Soo Greyhounds.

It gave the Spitfires (21-22-3-1) their first back-to-back wins in more than a month (December 9th).

Pavelka now sports a 6-8-1 record in 17 appearances with the Spitfires, along with a 3.50 goals against average and a sparkling .906 save percentage.

Jaro is one of eight Spitfires recently ranked in NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings. He's slated 27th among goalies playing in North America.

The entire staff at Tecumseh and South Walkerville Vision Centres congratulates Jaroslav on his second-consecutive Player of the Week Honour, and wishes he and the Spitfires nothing but good luck in their pursuit of a playoff spot.
