CLARKE: PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Playing among our top 6 forwards, Michael Clarke is showing he’s got great offensive skills to go along with the rest of his all-around game.
With two goals and three assists in two games, his outstanding play earned him Tecumseh and South Walkerville Vision Centres Player of the Week honours for the period ended Sunday, March 11th.
Clarke’s 13th goal of the season earned the Spitfires a point in a hard-fought, 2-1 overtime loss to the Soo Greyhounds back on Thursday, March 8th.
He followed that performance up with his best effort of the season, leading our guys to a 7-5 comeback win over Sarnia with a goal and three assists.
“I’m getting a chance with KoKo out,” Clarke told windsorspitfires.com. “Obviously we’d like to have him back. But it gives a guy like me and Jordy (Jordan Maletta) a chance to step up here.”
In addition to his offensive contributions, Clarke played an exceptional two-way game last week; on the club’s top penalty killing unit and in crucial defensive situations.
For the season, the 17-year-old London native has 14 goals and 20 assists while playing in all 65 games. That puts him in a tie for 11th in OHL rookie scoring and ranks him eighth on the club in points.
The entire staff at Tecumseh and South Walkerville Vision Centres congratulates Michael on an outstanding week.
