EVOLA NAMED DIRECTOR OF SCOUTING & HOCKEY OPERATIONS

(Windsor, ON) – General Manager Warren Rychel is pleased to announce the hiring of Frank Evola as the club’s Director of Scouting and Hockey Operations.

The Windsor native spent nine seasons with the Oshawa Generals, where he played a vital role in helping the club win the 2015 Memorial Cup.

“Obviously it’s bittersweet leaving a great franchise like the Oshawa Generals,” Evola said. “But the chance to come home, and to work with Warren and Bob, guys I truly respect, is a great opportunity. I grew up with Windsor Spitfires hockey. I used to sit in Section 9 at The Barn. I’m looking forward to joining the staff and bringing more championships to my hometown.”

Evola, 44, will oversee the scouting department and will assist with all player transactions.

“We’re very happy to add an excellent hockey mind like Frank to our staff,” Rychel said. “He has a wealth of experience and a real eye for spotting young talent and building winning teams. Frank has a strong work ethic from his family background. Having grown up here, he’s invested in the community. He’s a great fit for us moving forward.”
